Dear Parent/Guardian:
I’m writing to inform you that your child will be using Weblogs/Blogs in his/her History Class. Blogs allow students to share ideas and collaborate on course content. Students will be instructed on the proper etiquette for online correspondence. For instance, what constitutes proper language and content. Also, students will be instructed on how alert the instructor of improper content.
If you would not like your child to participate in Blogs, please write to me at the following E-mail Address: FakeEMail@FakeSchool.k-12.edu Thank you for your attention to this matter.

All participating children will pledge to uphold the following Do's and Don'ts of Blogging:

Don’t use text lingo or slang
Don’t be disrespectful to classmates
Don’t post inappropriate content
Do use proper English
Do treat your fellow Bloggers the way you want to be treated (Golden Rule)
Do privately alert your instructor of inappropriate content

Sincerely,
Paul V. McFarland
